There are already over 23,000 WordPress plugins to choose from on the WordPress platform with approximately 10 new ones being released each week! While its good to keep up with innovations and new plugins coming onto the market, it doesn’t always pay to download the latest releases until you’ve read a few reviews and witnessed them in action.
So what are we looking at this month?
A couple of good plugins have come to our attention this month from WordPress developers CodeCanyon. As WordPress web developers, we appreciate plugins that are easy to implement, have good support, are well designed and compatible with the latest version of WordPress. Here are 3 that stand out from the CodeCanyon team. And the best bit is they are all designed to be responsive.
A subject we have spent a lot of time on lately and quite rightly as mobile usage grows, so our first plugin has to be…
With its grid layout this plugin can be used to present content in a stylish new way. It’s minimalist chessboard layout consists of an expanding square in which you can present various types of content – your team, your blog posts, your stock, your fantasy list etc.
Although sleek and minimal in design, you can customise the plugin to vary the typography, transition effects, content and social sharing buttons to match your brand design. We liked its responsiveness, the fact it adapts to mobile devices, laptops & tablets – in fact any device with a retina display.
You can add up to 90 squares and still keep your page load time. It is compatible with all the big web browsers and just to be clear on mobile, it works with Android and IOS systems,
We all know the importance of creating good content that is of interest to fellow users and then making it easy for this content to be shared.
Well, the Social Network Tabs covers 17 different social networks and supports 70 different social features. Its responsiveness and the small amount of resources it pulls (meaning minimal impact on page load speed) are what make this little plugin mighty powerful. We thought this plugin well worth a mention to the socialites out there.
Another responsive plugin, this one can help with sales and marketing on your site. Once again, this is a premium plugin but at a cost of $15 well worth the one off fee.
Live Chat enables staff to chat in real-time, to obtain the email address of the user, to translate the chat into a variety of languages and most importantly convert customers into customers as they are searching for something on the site.
It is very easy to install and use. You can log the calls to collect data on what users are looking for, what they are not finding, what frustrates and what pleases them about your website – altogether a great tool for building up feedback and providing customer service as and when it is required.
Share your favourite / new WordPress plugin in the comments below – if you are a web developer and we like what you are building, we’ll review it in a future post.
